Cakes made with beans, madness or genius?
We’re gonna go with genius!

While it's probably a stretch to call cake healthy, the main ingredient in our cupcakes, black beans, do have more nutritional value than flour. Black beans contain more grams of protein  per the equivalent amount of flour  —with under half the number of calories— as well as more dietary fiber, and higher levels of potassium, calcium, and iron.  And since beans are naturally gluten free*, for those with celiac disease our cupcakes a delightfully delicious alternative to baked goods made with traditional or gluten-free flours. As for the frosting... that's all sugary goodness (just the way you like it.)

Black Betty

The cupcake that started it all. Dark chocolate cupcake made with black beans and topped with rich mocha frosting.

Pink Lady

We gave our signature Black Betty cupcake a little sass, a la Rizzo and the Pink Ladies, with creamy raspberry frosting.

Topless Cupcakes

Our cupcakes are good enough to go topless! This frosting-free version comes in at around 190 calories and with a whopping 7 grams of protein, you can't beat this sweet treat!

6" Whole Cakes

Two thick layers, 6-8 slices. Available as Black Betty or Pink Lady.
